Crafting the Broom & Its Use in House Magicks
Brooms, of course, have been connected to the home since humans began to clean and clear their abodes. There are deities connected to them across very nearly all cultures. The making of brooms, and besoms, whisks and switches, have been ingrained into our history here on Turtle Island since the moment our ancestors stepped foot on its soil. Brooms are used in many branches of witchcraft and paganism, and in house magicks, they are an essential tool!
In this hands on crafting workshop, over 4.5 hours, you will learn the art of making a set of 4 kitchen tools (cake tester, pot scrubber, counter whisk and a root veggie scrubber), a hand broom and a House Blessing broom.
House Blessing Brooms are about 3 feet long and can be adorned with protective amulets, crystals and or charms. All applied without any glue being used, but instead added into the weave of your creation. You will also learn how to craft it with intent, how to consecrate it, and then we will discuss the ways it can be used for house magicks with a focus on the home.
The kitchen tools are fairly self explanatory but you will learn their magicks too. The mighty hand broom can be used to clean and clear your altar, or any small messes. Also very handy to ‘sweep down’ a person to help them clear their energy after an intense magickal or psychic experience.
All supplies are included for you to craft your broom:
- Broomcorn.
- Broom sticks for your house blessing brooms
- Cord, many colours to choose from, for winding and weaving your brooms.
- Some charms and crystals, (please bring your own charms, talismans and/or crystals to add. If I can make it work for you, we will weave them in.)
Space is limited to 8 people and your investment is $125. By the end of the workshop m you will go home with 6, made by you, brooms.
