We hope that this FAQ will be of use to you and answer most of the questions you might have about Wiccanfest. However, if you can not find the information you are looking for, or if you still have any remaining questions, please contact the Program Director. If your request for information is urgent, please indicate it in the subject line of your Email. We get very busy as the festival date closes in on us and want to answer you in a timely manner.
What is the focus of Wiccanfest?
Wiccanfest is dedicated to providing a warm and friendly environment for members of the Pagan community to gather for the purpose of shared learning, ritual, workshops and fellowship in a wonderful outdoor woodland setting.
Who can attend Wiccanfest?
Wiccanfest is open to all members of the Pagan community world wide (so long as they agree to follow the festival rules).
Do I have to make a reservation to attend Wiccanfest?
No. However, it is recommended to reserve (pre-register) your spot at Wiccanfest – particularly if you wish to reserve indoor space since it is limited. In order to reserve an indoor spot, your registration fee must be prepaid and reach us no later than 2 weeks (10 business days) prior to the festival. It is suggested that you confirm the availability of indoor space by phoning (705) 454-3077 before registering.
Where is Wiccanfest being held?
Wiccanfest is held on the grounds of the Mansfield Outdoor Centre – a large woodland site just north of Toronto, Ontario. We have indoor cabin accommodation for 60 with camping facilities for hundreds more.
Who do I make payment for Wiccanfest to?
Please make cheques and money orders payable “Wic-Can Fest”. Remember to send Canadian funds or US equivalent. We would ask our American friends to send their payments in US funds (at the current exchange rate). Note that personal cheques and postdated cheques are not accepted.
Can I just attend the festival for 1 day or the weekend?
Absolutely. We have different rates to suit all needs.
How do I reserve an indoor cabin space?
ALL cabins are dorm style accommodations and sleep between 4 and 6 people. In order to reserve a cabin, it is vital that you pre-register. The cabins go very quickly and are portioned out on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Please note that those with special needs who cannot camp outside will be given priority when cabin space is being booked.
What kind of food does Wiccanfest provide?
Our chef prepares a varied fresh healty Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian menu with meat options as side dishes. While we try to accomodate special requests, people with specific dietary needs such as Allergies, Vegan or Celiac should come prepared. If you require fridge space for health reasons, please contact us ahead of time.
It is crucial that we know ahead of time how many people will be purchasing meals to ensure we buy enough but not too much. On Saturday night, the Main Feast is free and included in the registration price.
Can I cook meals at my camping site?
Only if you are using a propane stove, fire bowl or similar “above ground” device. There are no individual fires on this site and we are not allowed to create any. There will be communal fires that can be used for this purpose. Except for the fire pits (where the dancing and rituals take place), all fires must be above ground.
I have children. Is Wiccanfest child friendly?
Absolutely! Wiccanfest is a family friendly festival. We have several children and family oriented activities planned as well as a number of other events to keep them busy and interested. The Wiccanfest site affords children a unique setting in which to explore their pagan heritage in a safe and constructive environment.
NOTE TO PARENTS: Children under the age of 10 MUST be supervised by a parent, legal guardian or sitter at ALL times. It is not permitted to allow your children to run wild on the site. Please be responsible.
What is the weather like during Wiccanfest?
Early June in this part of Canada is usually quite warm. Daytime temperatures are usually in the high 20s to low 30’s C (high 70’s to mid 80’s F). Evenings can be cooler but usually not below 20o C. Rain is always a possibility so be prepared, especially if you are camping out doors.
Are there shower facilities at Wiccanfest?
Yes, there are showers and flush toilets onsite. Times when the showers can be used will be posted since the water supply is limited and we want to make sure there is water for everyone.

An exception to this rule will be made in the case of our invited musical guests.
