About WiccanFest

Wic-Can Fest, June 12-16 2013

Wic-Can Fest is  Canada’s oldest and longest running pagan festival. Our event is held in a beautiful and safe country setting just one hour north of Toronto, Ontario and encompasses some of the most diverse topography, flora, and fauna found in this part of Canada — in fact, the world famous Bruce Trail borders on the north end of the site.

Wic-Can Fest is a family friendly event with full dining, showers, and swimming facilities, as well as the opportunity to take advantage of indoor cabin accommodations. Wic-Can Fest offers a full schedule of workshops, lectures, demonstrations, concerts and rituals for you to choose from, or, alternatively, you can just spend your time getting reacquainted with old friends or making new ones.

Accommodations

The site has plenty of space for camping, some in the open and some in wooded areas. We also have a limited number of cabins. We are giving priority to people with babies and people with health problems. Please make sure to send in your request as early as possible as they will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. ALL Cabins are shared with others (bunk beds), so if you wish a same sex cabin or are bunking with specific people, please inform us. We cannot reserve a whole cabin unless you have enough people to fill it. Those staying in cabins should bring their own bedding supplies (sleeping bag / blankets, pillow, etc.)

Volunteering

Wic-Can Fest cannot run without the efforts of those who so generously donate their time. We ask that everyone sign up for at least a two hour block of time in one of our work areas. We are always appreciative of help in the kitchen, children’s program, maintenance, programming and the like. Upon arrival you will have the opportunity to choose in what way you will be contributing, by picking your shift and department.

The Children’s Program

The schedule for the Kid’s Program is filling up fast again this year, nature walks, swimming, bubbles, singing, workshops, arts and crafts, a children’s ritual, and the ever popular Children’s Parade. Make sure to bring some colourful clothing, some clothes to get dirty in, a sun hat and sun block.  Some of the arts and crafts will be geared towards the parade. There is no fee for the children’s program but we do ask that all participating parents contribute time to Kid’s program, in addition to their volunteer shift.

Special Notes

Almost all activities are included in the admission price. In an effort to keep our entry price as low as possible for the majority of attendees, this year, we are requiring a small extra fee for special presentations with a restricted number of participants such as the Sweatlodges and Firewalking. Both these special experiences are well worth the extra, they have a profound and lasting effect on the participants and are part of what we proudly refer to as Life Transforming !  We hope that you will agree and support our endeavour as we wish to continue to offer these very special events for many years to come and for as long as they remain available.

Wic-Can Fest is a festival by Pagans, for Pagans and for the friends of Pagans. If the ways of Pagan people do not agree with you, you may not be one of the above….please give us a call if you are unsure, we will help direct you to a more appropriate choice of venue. Thank you for your interest.

Wic-Can Fest reserves the right to refuse or revoke admission at it’s sole discretion, without refund.

Please feel free to bring your drums, song, musical instruments, your pagan regalia, note book and a positive state of mind. On the day-to-day side, don’t forget your sun block, bug spray, warm clothing for the nights and cool clothing for the days, as well as rain gear since the weather tends to be unpredictable at this time of year.

Bring money to shop with !

If the spirit moves you, we are always interested in new rituals and workshops. If you have something you would like to share, please submit a proposal together with your registration form.
